Black Crow Valley

so what's this black crow valley thing all about?

Black Crow Valley is simply a collective of freelance creative people collaborating on interesting design projects. Using the internet, we're able to work together across different countries and time zones for businesses and individuals around the world. Since everyone who participates in a project is great at what they do, our clients get a super result without the costs of hiring a dedicated agency, and our flexibility is perfect for projects that change and develop as companies grow.

Everyone who works on Black Crow projects is proud of what they do, most of all the four core members (see below), and we bring all of our talents, flexibility, passion and perfectionism to bear on your projects... home...

a superb outcome for you is a personal achievement for us.
Brian

brian: founder and chief computer-botherer...

Brian Kraemer-Banks was born on exactly the same day as Matt Damon, and their lives have followed similar paths. Of course, Matt Damon isn't a good web developer but, apart from that, their lives are indistinguishable...

Brian set up Black Crow Valley in order to allow talented people to work together on freelance projects. Apart from coordinating projects, Brian does most of the web markup and programming, along with the occasional spot of graphics and copywriting. He only owns one hat, and he wears it in the winter.

He lives in Cornwall with his wife, two dogs and an adopted cat in a quiet village which (probably) hides many smuggling-related secrets... home...

Sinéad

sinéad: wordsmith...

Sinéad has spent too many years staring at grey office furniture and listening to the sounds of a distant water cooler. Thanks to Black Crow Valley, she now finds all the inspiration she needs in beech home furniture and regularly dances to the sounds of her kettle.

Sinéad has been a successful professional copywriter for a variety of businesses and organisations for over a decade. She has worked in several European countries and is fluent in French.

Errant apostrophes and missing hyphens upset her greatly, and she won't rest until she's found the perfect strapline. She really should get out more... home...

Kieran

kieran: the willy wonka of eye candy...

Kieran has been scribbling and doodling for as long as time itself and, for the last 10 years, he's earned his bread and butter forging the image of many businesses throughout the world.

Working within the print industry for many beards, he has gained enough knowledge of image marketing strategies including pre-press and print-ready design concepts to make a grown man weep with joy... And confusion.

Across land and sea, Kieran heard the raspings of some imaginative little crows with some big ideas and, since then, his design has taken on the digital form and he now pumps out work aimed at the web. He challenges and annoys his new colleagues with designs that irritate the linear and aggravate the style sheets... He gets few Christmas cards... home...

John

john: technomancer and pantomime villain...

Since the first computers were hewn from the living rock, John has been supporting and nurturing them through their many tantrums and postpubescent crashes. With years of systems and server experience, along with considerable experience in programming Difficult Things, John designs our more complex projects and keeps them ticking over the way they should.

Equally content in front of a chargrill, behind a keyboard or on the wet end of a cider, John takes pride in pushing work, pleasure and play to the limits, and is constantly on the look out for new ways to get more out of systems and servers to give the user the best experience possible.

John lives in Cornwall with his wife, a selection of feral kittens, a waxed moustache, and extensive sandwich ingredients.... home...
